Eureka- Carol Sanger Binkley, 70, of Eureka, passed away at 8:12 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2016 at her home.
She was born November 9, 1945 in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Kimmel) Sanger. They preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Rev. Steve (Jessica) of Lake Mary, FL; granddaughter, Carrie and grandson, Steve. Also surviving is a sister Jeanne Clifton, nephew Wes and niece Dawn.
Carol graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and Illinois State University. She began her teaching career in Great Falls, MT as a kindergarten teacher for 2 years. After moving to Eureka, IL she taught 1st grade in El Paso, IL for 34 years.
After retirement she worked for Dr. T. Gander for 8 years. She volunteered at Davenport School and Maple Lawn Homes.
She was active in the Eureka Christian church where she taught Sunday School, was a youth leader and Deacon.
She enjoyed game night and eating out with friends. Shopping and treasure hunting with her girlfriends gave her joy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren in Lake Mary, FL.
She felt very blessed and praised the Lord each day, especially when walking on nature paths, listening to birds, hearing the night sounds and star watching.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Eureka Christian Church. Rev. Lucy Maier will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial of her cremains will be in Olio cemetery.
