Eureka- Loretta A. Wiegand, 76, of Eureka, passed away with family by her side at 8:50 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
She was born February 13, 1942 in Bern, KS to Emil and Grace (Blunier) Strahm. She married Elton "Dietz" Wiegand on November 27, 1960 in Bern, KS. He survives.
Also surviving are: four sons Greg (Lynn Eastman) Wiegand of Glendale, AZ, Stan (Marilyn Metzger) Wiegand of Seneca, KS, Merle Wiegand of Chillicothe, IL, Brian (Tina Martin) Wiegand of Eureka, IL; two brothers Stan (Linda) Strahm of Lincoln, NE, Wilfred (Verona) Strahm of Sabetha, KS; two sisters Joyce (Dale) Dortch of Bern, KS and Ardena (Jack) Kuenzi of Bern, KS; twelve grandchildren, Leah, Ellen, Laura, Naomi, Joel, Simon, Bret, Keith (Lana), Kaylene, Kelton, Kendall, Konnor and one great-grandson Toby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law Debra (Herring) Wiegand.
Loretta worked as a CNA for 24 years. She first worked for Maple Lawn, then retired from Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. She was also a homemaker, sewed filters for Getz Fire Equipment for 15 years and helped work on the farm alongside her husband.
She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Eureka where Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Church Ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke, IL and from 9 to 9:45 AM at the church on Saturday. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be in the Roanoke Apostolic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or Apostolic Christian LifePoints in Morton.
