Luana Pearl Janssen, 84, of Eureka, IL passed away at 1:21 p.m. on December 22, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in in Peoria.
She was born on November 29, 1936 in Peoria, IL a daughter of Kenneth Eugene and Gladys Miller Crawford. She married Roland J. Janssen on September 19, 1954 in Eureka, IL. He survives.
Survivors also include her children, Ronalee (the late Melvin) Henry of Eureka; Kevin (Mary) Janssen of Roanoke; Kim (the late Rich) Waters of Eureka; Robert Janssen of Charlotte, N.C.; Angela (Scott) Martin of Kenosha, WI; one brother, Kenneth (Joan) Crawford of Morton; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and one grandson Kevin Colt Janssen.
Luana helped her daughter Kim and her husband at their restaurant for six years. She did housekeeping at the Eureka Hospital and before ending her work career she worked as the activities assistant at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka in the Alzheimer's unit which she loved and was called to do. Luana was an amazing singer with the Eureka Hospital Side by Side group and coronet player and just recently played for her great-grandchildren. She was always the first one there to help no matter what. She started and organized people to take food to the firefighters fighting fires. She loved her family more than anything and loved being a grandma and great grandma Lulu. She loved being outside in the sunshine and by the water. She will be missed by so many, more than words can say.
Luana was a member of the Eureka Presbyterian Church.
Cremation will be accorded and a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Social distancing will be observed at the visitation and masks required. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in 2021.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of
