Deer Creek- Richard R. Wallett, 74, of Deer Creek, IL passed away at 1:07 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Heartland of Riverview in East Peoria, IL.
He was born on March 21, 1941 in Chicago, IL a son of Raymond and Marie Poos Wallett. He married Ida "Jeannette" Burbridge on December 7, 1963 in Bellevue, IL. She survives. They celebrated 52 years of marriage together.
Also surviving are two daughters, Angela Hill of Deer Creek; Denise (Dwayne) Fulk of Rapids, WI; one son, Jason (Candace) Wallett of Metamora; grandson, Ethan Wallett whom he raised; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard worked for Caterpillar for 25 years before he retired. He served his county as an Air Force veteran.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed dearly by his family.
Richard was a member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015. Pastor Steve Evans will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria where military rites will be accorded at the grave.
