Eureka - Roy William Hangartner, 86, of Eureka, IL passed away at 1:15 am on Friday July 24, 2015 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.

He was born on January 20, 1929 in Lexington, IL to Christian and Bertha Lena Albers Hangartner. He married Norma Wiegand on November 1, 1953 in Goodfield, IL. She passed away on February 2, 2013 in Eureka.

Surviving are two sons, Dan (Donna) Hangartner; Mark (Karen) Hangartner both of Eureka; one daughter, Lena (Wes) Kieser of Brimfield; two brothers, Robert (Geri) Hangartner of Sarasota, FL; David (Barb) Hangartner of Rockville, CT; nine grandchildren, Michael, Joy, Grant (Martha), Logan (Ashley), Kyle (Melissa) Hangartner; Ty (Katelyn), Maria, Lance, and Julia Kieser; and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Margaret DeSigne, and one brother, Ben Hangartner.

An Army veteran, Roy proudly served his country overseas in the Korean War.
He was a member of the Eureka American Legion.

Roy worked as a service manager for Getz Fire Equipment for 36 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Eureka, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 26. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Saturday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and from 12-1pm Sunday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Olio Cemetery in Eureka.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. Online condolences may be sent to the family at argoruestmanharris.com.
