Bernard "Doc" Bucher, Jr.

Bernard "Doc" Bucher, Jr., 73, of Eureka, IL, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at his residence with family at his side.
He was born on May 12, 1948, in Washington, IL, a son of Bernard Sr. and Emma King Bucher. He married Sue Mathews on July 6, 1968, in Washington, IL. She survives.
Survivors include his children, Geoff (Kay) Bucher of Washington; Elizabeth (Scott) Curry; Jake (Renee) Bucher; and Katherine Bucher all of Eureka; grandchildren, Nicholas, Haley, and Megan Bucher; Michael Curry; and Carson Bucher.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bernie owned and operated his dental practice in Eureka for 43 years, retiring in 2019.
He was one of the founding members of the Woodford County Health Department and served as the president of the board from 1990 until his retirement in 2019.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
Pastor Joe Burns will officiate. Per Bernie's request, there will be no visitation. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family.
