Carol L. "Smith" Vielhak, 74, formerly of Eureka, IL, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Westfield Nursing Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
She was born November 19, 1943 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late James Douglas and Flossie Lucille (Gestring) White. On Jan. 27, 1995 she was married to Larry Lee Vielhak at Bloomington, Illinois and he preceded her in death June 4, 2002.
She had sold advertising and retired from the Woodford County Journal in Eureka before moving to Sikeston about 13 years ago.
She is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Teresa Sneed of Sikeston and Lynn & Tom Krumholz of Eureka, Illinois; one sister, Joyce Anne Gilmore of Snow Hill, Maryland; 4 grandchildren, Danielle Litwiller and Christian Keefer of Sikeston, Ellen Krumholz of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Jane Krumholz of Chicago, Illinois; and by 3 great-grandchildren, Stephon, Ashlyn and Piper all of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James D. White.
Carol was a former member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Eureka, Illinois
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.
