Washington-David W. Roemersberger, 74, of Washington, IL formerly Eureka, IL passed away at 6:45 am on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Advocate Eureka Hospital.
He was born on November 2, 1942 in Peoria, IL a son of Warren and Edith Bechtel Roemersberger. He married Judith M. Wylder on October 15, 1967 in Eureka, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kathleen (John) Feser of Morton, IL; Kimberly (Phillip) Bachman of Goodfield, IL; five grandchildren, Susan and Sarah Feser; Megan, Matthew, and Bradley Bachman; and three brothers, Alan (Nita) Roemersberger of Phoenix, AZ; Don (Arlene) Roemersberger of Morton, IL; and Gary (Kim) Roemersberger of Bloomington, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David was employed by Caterpillar working in the office at the Mapleton Plant for 33 years before his retirement in 1995.
An Army veteran, he served with the Army National Guard for 6 years.
He was raised in and a member of the Eureka Christian Church. David had a love for music and especially enjoyed playing the organ. His greatest love was spending time with his family and grandchildren and the trips they took together to the Ozarks.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Highview Christian Church in Washington. Pastor James Frye will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and from 9-9:45 am before the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
