Devoreh K. "Devra" Lawson, 70, of Danvers, IL, passed away at 8:51 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born December 19, 1948 in Peoria to James B. and Delores E. (Nation) Alexander. She married Merle T. Lawson on November 15, 1966 in Sunnyland (Washington). He survives.
Also surviving are two sons Thomas Lawson and Jamie Lawson both of Eureka; two sisters, Donna (Bob) McGregor and Louwanda (Leon) Stevenson both of Eureka; one brother Steve Alexander of Sarasota, FL; one grandson Andy (Tiffany) Lawson and one great-grandson Lane Lawson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Devra worked several years transporting cars for Scott Lehman Autos. She was also a wonderful homemaker. She played the bass fiddle and sang for a bluegrass/gospel music band. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Eureka. Devra loved doing crossword puzzles and read the Bible every day.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Rev. Steve Barr and Pastor Tim Chally will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home and one half hour prior to services on Tuesday. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospitals or the charity of the donor's choice.
