Minonk - Ellen Rose Allen, 87 of Minonk, passed away at 4:38 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at OSF St. James Medical Center in Pontiac.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, Minonk with Rev. Donna Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
Interment will be at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka. Memorials may be made to Heritage Healthcare, Minonk .
Ellen was born on July 31, 1927 in Olio Township, Eureka, a daughter of Crawford C. and Ella Metz Clymer. She married Ernest Chester Allen on November 15, 1947 at Eureka Christian Church in Eureka. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1977.
Surviving are her children, Sharon (Tom) Lupella of Dubois, WY, Kathy (Dave) Cusac of Pine River, MN, and Steve (Dollene) Allen of Minonk; grandchildren, Shawn (Lena) Lupella, Mike (Gimger) Lupella, Cory (Nicole) Allen, and Erin Cusac; great grandchildren, William, Jonathan, Frank, Molly, Sophie and Oliver Lupella and Isabelle Allen.
In addition to her husband, Ernest, she is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, and 2 brothers. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Minonk and the Womens Club at her Church. She was previously employed at the Motorola Plant in Pontiac and Monte Casino Nursing Home, Toluca. Most of her time was spent helping her husband on the farm and raising her children.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Health Care in Minonk for the excellent care she received as a resident.
