Eureka-Eric Ryan Gorton, 40, of Eureka, IL passed away at 12:03 pm on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on February 6, 1976 in Rochester, MI a son of Kinyon and Nancy Jedlick Gorton.
Surviving are his parents of Eureka; one son, Kinyon James Gorton, II of Bloomington, IL; and one sister, Kristina Caryn Gorton of Kenner, LA.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Eric was a person who always put others first. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and especially his son. He loved the outdoors where he could camp and fish and also playing darts.
Funeral services will be held at 6 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Pastors Dave Steinbeck and Erik Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm at the funeral home before the service. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or the American Kidney Foundation. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.argoruestmanharris.com.
