Esther Marie Eastman, 100, of Eureka, IL passed away at 2:40 a.m. on Saturday January 13, 2018 at Select Post Acute Care in Eureka three days before her 101st birthday.
She was born January 16, 1917 in rural El Paso, IL, a daughter of Emanuel C. and Katie (Zehr) Ulrich. She married Marvin Albrecht on December 29, 1938 in Flanagan, IL. Marvin passed away on July 24, 1958. She married George W. Eastman on June 26, 1965 in Flanagan, IL. George passed away on April 6, 1976.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn (Norman) Ringenberg and Kathy Weichman, both of Flanagan; and one son, Bob (Karen) Albrecht of Eureka; two step daughters Janet (Dick) Baner of Eureka and Sherry (Rick) Murray of Meadow Lakes, Texas; one step son, Dick (Nelma) Eastman of Roanoke; and a step daughter-in-law Dorothy "Dotty" Eastman; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Marvin and George, son-in-law Robert Weichman, step-son Bill Eastman, brothers Wilton Ulrich, LaVerne "Bud" Ulrich, Dean Ulrich, Edwin Ulrich and sister Earlene (Ulrich) Schrock.
In her younger years she helped many families with housework and family care and was a mother and homemaker. She also worked in the cafeteria at Eureka Middle School. She volunteered at the Eureka Et. Cetera shop and was a member of the Woodford County Home Extension. She enjoyed quilting, bird watching and visiting with her many grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was a member of Calvary Community Church in Washington, IL where she participated in Women in Mission.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Calvary Community Church, Washington, IL. Rev. Clayton Tinervin and Rev. Doug Hicks will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Waldo Cemetery in Flanagan, IL at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family.
