Heidi Mathews, 43, of Eureka IL., passed away at 11:30 am in Eureka, IL on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Heidi was born to Gail Renee Bishop and Donald Thomas Bishop on July 18, 1974 in Peoria, IL. She was married on May 17, 1997, to David Mathews of Eureka IL, and had two beautiful daughters, Ashton and Meghan Mathews. She was the oldest of six children, and was soon followed by Kristen Mullins of Peoria IL, Jason Bishop of Congerville IL, Tyler (Asako) Bishop of Congerville IL, Matthew Bishop of Congerville IL, and Kaitlyn Bishop of Congerville IL. Heidi was also very close to Mamie and Lenn Hunt of Congerville IL.
Heidi was preceded in death by her mother Gail, Mamie, Lenn, and her husband's parents, Karen and Douglas Mathews.
Heidi attended school at Eureka High School in Eureka IL.. For the majority of her life, Heidi followed her passion for assisting the elderly by working as a CNA and home healthcare worker.
Heidi was exceptional in the way that she loved the world, and the people around her. Heidi loved taking long walks next to the foggy lake in the morning after having her cup of coffee, cuddling with her chunky dog Lily, and most of all, spending quality time chatting with her friends and family. Anyone that knew Heidi, also knew how much she loved to laugh, dance around the house, and belt out country music at the top of her lungs. She loved sitting out on the back porch under the stars with her husband listening to The Avett Brothers, and she loved long talks with, and about, her daughters. Heidi was relentlessly kind, and immeasurably strong.
Sanober Khan once wrote, "My mother is pure radiance." Heidi was sunshine to everyone she knew, and she is going to be greatly missed by all of the lives she touched by her warmth.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 3-6p.m. at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Private inurnment will be held at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eureka Food Pantry or American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.argoruestmanharris.com.
