Helen Wilfinger

EUREKA - Helen J. Wilfinger, 87, of Eureka, died at 12:30 PM on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka, IL.

Helen was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to Ivar M. "Blue" and Ethyl H. "Tom" (Buck) Hyder on December 29, 1926. She married Frank S. Wilfinger in Elizabethton on December 28, 1945.

She was preceded in death by Frank in 2007, her parents, and her sister Lela Ruth Ritchie.
Surviving are her sons, Phillip E. (Pam) Wilfinger, Deer Creek, IL, Vernon K. (Bonnie) Wilfinger, East Peoria, IL; 4 grandchildren, Shea Osborne, Heather Crawford, Keith Wilfinger, Kyle Wilfinger; and 1 great-grandchild, Colten Osborne.

Helen was a member of Eureka Christian Church, the AARP, and the American Legion Auxiliary. In past years, Helen enjoyed traveling with Frank, square dancing, playing the organ and piano. She was also a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinal's baseball team.

Visitation will be on Friday June 6, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St. Elizabethton Tennessee. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. The Reverend Greg Kay will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
