Larry Keister

Eureka- Larry D. Keister, 59, of Eureka, passed away at 2:19 am on Saturday February 17, 2018 at Flanagan Health Care Center.

He was born on December 4, 1958 in Peoria, IL to Vernon and Mary Coffey Keister. He married Diane Lynn Murphy on May 21, 1978 in Eureka, IL. She passed away on November 10, 1998.

Surviving is one son, Joseph Keister of Eureka; one daughter, Dawn (Aaron) Wiles of Eureka; one granddaughter, Aurora Diane Wiles; two sisters, Ann (Michael) Nixon of Secor; Carol (Timothy) Pack of Churchville, VA; one brother, Jerry Keister of Churchville, VA; four nieces; seven nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry was a computer draftsman, working for CDI Midwest for 23 years.

He was a member of the Midwest Gun Club, and he attended the Eureka Church of the Nazarene. He loved camping, traveling, taking road trips, working outside in his garden, and enjoyed playing Santa Claus for the local cub scout and girl scout troops.

He loved his cats, especially Loverboy and Little Girl, but most of all he loved his family, especially his granddaughter, who affectionately called him "Grandpa Duck".

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday February 21st at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home and burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Paws Animal Shelter at 2500 Harding Lane in Woodstock, IL 60098. Online condolences may be sent to the family at argoruestmanharris.com.
