Lewis J. Erickson, 80, of Eureka, IL passed away at 7:41 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born on March 6, 1941 in Oak Park, MN a son of Edward and Agnus Berge Erickson. He married Joyce L. Young on February 10, 1973 in Fairbury, IL. She survives.
Survivors also include his children, John (Valerie) Erickson of Clarksville, TN; Jennifer (Scott) Williams of Washington; Jeffrey L. Erickson of Roy, Utah; Justin (Devan) Erickson of Sandwich, IL; Jody (Chris) Winling of Herrin, IL; his siblings, Janet Sanders; Donald Erickson; Barbara; Michael (Carol) Erickson; Judy; Kerry Erickson; Bruce (Vickie) Erickson; 16 grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, Alfred, infant David, Vivian Kanudtson, Gerald, Dennis, Nancy Freeze.
Lewis was a professional welder working on the John F. Kennedy warship. He welded livestock confinements, worked on grain elevators.
He loved animals and kids. He enjoyed watching westerns, gardening and fishing. He loved his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Rev. Doug Hicks will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and also one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in the Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
