Lillian Schierer

November 18, 1917 — January 25, 2021

Lillian Schierer, 103, of Eureka, IL passed away at 4:28 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her residence.
She was born on November 18, 1917 in Lowpoint, IL a daughter of Herman and Meta Renken Hofstatter. She married Robert Schierer on January 10, 1939 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora. He passed away on August 8, 2009.
Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Kern of Eureka; Barbara (Chuck) Riker of Hersher; Gerri (Steve) Schrock of Congerville; Bonnie (David) Owens of Bloomington; one son-in-law, Ron Hastings of Washington; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and 2 more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings, daughter, Phyllis Hastings and son, Ronald Dean Schierer.
Lillian was a housewife for many years. She won Mother of the Year award in 1993. In her younger years she was a member of a Square Dance Team.
She enjoyed traveling and her doll collection and most of all loved spending time with her family.
Lillian was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Eureka where a private family funeral mass will be held. Father Eugene Radosevich will officiate. The funeral mass will be livestreamed at www.stsjlj.com (click "Funeral") at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the church. Rosary will be at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the church. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family. Social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks will be required at the visitation and funeral mass.
The family wanted to mention an appreciation for the care given by her caregivers, Cheyenne, Jana, Shelley, Karen, Carol and Paula.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Catholic Church in Eureka. Online condolences may be sent to the at www.argoruestmanharris.com.
