Martha Jane Clymer, 85, of Morton, left this earth on June 7, 2023 at 2:31 p.m. She was born in Eureka, IL on August 6, 1937 to Donald and Mabel (Aeschleman) Clymer.
She is survived by her sister, Donna Clymer; niece Carrie Beth (Michael) Griffith; nephews, Rob (Amy) Wood, Nathan (Katie) Wood; great-nephews, Leo Wood, Bradley Griffith; and great-nieces, Taylor Griffith, Quinn Griffith, Charlotte Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Wood; brother-in-law, Robert Wood; and nephew, Jonathan Wood.
Martha Jane had cerebral palsy and was in a wheelchair all of her life. She made her home the past 50 years at Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton. There she received the best, most compassionate care that enabled her to live a long life. She participated in Special Olympics and was president of the Residents Council at the home for a number of years. Being a wise woman, she retired from both of these activities at the appropriate time. She will be missed by so many for her spirit, sense of humor, patience, perseverance, and compassion. She could be a little stubborn at times, but she was certainly well-loved for the wonderful person she was.
She was a member of the Eureka Christian Church. She truly loved her church and was a woman of strong faith. She enjoyed attending services when she could and visits from church friends.
Her family is so very grateful to the staff of A.C. Timber Ridge for providing loving care and being family for so many years. We are also thankful for Traditions Hospice for providing extra care at the end of her journey.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Olio Township Cemetery, Eureka, IL. Rev. Jennie Churchman will officiate. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to A. C. LifePoints, 2073 Veterans Rd, Morton, IL or Eureka Christian Church, 302 S. Main, Eureka, IL 61530. Condolences can be sent to family at www.argoruestmanharris.com
