Nancy L. West, 91, passed away on April 25, 2021 at The Loft in Eureka, IL. She was born in Evansville, IN on December 5, 1929, to Harold and Helen (Roland) Hill. She married Owen L. West on August 2, 1952 in Pekin, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Owen; and brother, Roland Hill.
Surviving are her children, Gail Ann (John) Wasson of McKinney, TX, Janet (Steve) Gray of Holly Springs, NC, and Robert Owen West of Chattanooga, TN; one brother, Robert Hill of Pekin; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nancy was a graduate of Pekin High School and Illinois Wesleyan University where she studied art and music. She taught private piano for many years and continued to perform as a pianist for recitals, musical productions and her own dance band, The Colleagues.
As an artist, Nancy’s works could be seen throughout the community. Many of her paintings reflected a deep Christian faith and love of music. She will be remembered for her great love for family, quick wit, contagious laugh and kind heart.
Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery prior to services. Argo-Ruestman-Harris is assisting the family with arrangements.
