Nelson Martin

Eureka-Nelson Ray Martin, 85, of Eureka passed away at 4:35 am on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.

He was born on October 27, 1931 in Metamora, IL a son of Andrew and Martha Gudeman Martin. He married Mary Ellen Wagenbach on July 6, 1952. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Steve (Vicki) Martin of Deer Creek, IL; Doug (Karen) Martin; Craig (Marilyn) Martin; Todd (Jo Ellen) Martin all of Eureka; one brother, Harvey(Sharon) Martin of Metamora; three sisters, Verna Hartter; Helen Wiegand both of Eureka; Loretta Rumbold of Princeville; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lester and Lewis Martin; two sisters, Thelma Martin and Mabel Belsley; and one great grandson, Clay Menold.

Nelson worked as a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was employed with Otto Baum for 27 years.

He was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 19, 2017. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall and again from 9-9:45 am on Monday before services at the church. Burial will be in the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling the arrangements for the family.
