Raymond Schroeder

Secor-Raymond Lee Schroeder, 73, of Secor, IL., passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his residence.

Raymond was born on October 10, 1943 in Granite City, IL to Raymond Herman and Margarita Uphoff Schroeder. He married Celia Baker on July 28, 1962 in Chenoa, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Rod (Kim) Schroeder of Secor; one sister, Donna Stein of Texas; one brother, Melvin Schroeder of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Ray (Lacea) Schroeder; Aaron Schroeder; Brandon Schroeder; Nate (Melanie) Schroeder; Celia Ann Schroeder and two great grandchildren, Ray and Cathryn Schroeder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David and John Schroeder; one sister, Rose Neinger and one son, Brian Schroeder.

Raymond owned and operated Rays Concrete.

He was a member of the Secor and Peoria Sportsmans Club and Laborers Union Local 996. He was a avid hunter and sportsman who enjoyed competing in trap shooting. Ray and his wife wintered in Florida where he loved spending time at the beach.

He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Secor where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017 with Rev. Michael Peters officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Secor Cemetery.
