Wilfred Ulrich
Eureka- Wilfred David Ulrich, 94, of Eureka, passed away at 2:10 pm on Saturday January 24, 2015 at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka, where he was a resident.
He was born on December 3, 1920 in Eureka, IL to Emanuel and Mathilda Schertz Ulrich. He married Betty Stutzman on May 2, 1944 in Goshen, IN. She passed away on December 24, 2012 in Eureka.
Surviving are four sons, David (Dale) Ulrich of Brentwood , CA; Daniel (Sandra) Ulrich of Kitchener, Ontario; Ronald (Shirley) Ulrich of Henderson, NE; Ross (Jill) Ulrich of Lenexa, KS; Four brothers, Emanuel (Frances) Ulrich Jr.; Harold (Lila) Ulrich; Kenneth (Ruby) Ulrich all of Eureka; Frank (Cara) Ulrich of Archbold, OH; two sisters, Mildred (Leonard) Reeb of Eureka, IL; Geneva (Vernon) Meyer of Wooster, OH; eight grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wilfred served as a pastor for several Mennonite churches throughout his life. He pastored churches in Illinois, Canada, Idaho, South Dakota, and Oklahoma before he and his wife retired back in Eureka.
He was a member of the Roanoke Mennonite Church where there will be a memorial service held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 28, 2015. The Rev. Brian Miller and Doane Brubaker will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on that Saturday. A graveside service will be held on this Thursday January 29, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the church cemetery.
