Bloomington - Willis R. Wettstein, 82, of Bloomington, passed away at 3:22 am on Thursday July 19, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

He was born on January 9, 1936 in rural Eureka, IL to Charles and Martha Schurch Wettstein. He married Marilyn Schluter on September 4, 1993 in Las Vegas, NV. She passed away on May 19, 2016.

Surviving are one brother, Leslie (Susan) Wettstein of Roanoke, IL; his twin sister, Wilma (Les) Pulfer of Pekin, IL; many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews; several step children and step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Joe, Art, Harold, and Bob Wettstein; and three sisters, Cathryn Wettstein; Rose Marie Wettstein; and Lulu Zimmerman.

An Army veteran, Willis proudly served his country and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #944 in Eureka.

Willis was a trucker by trade working for various trucking companies in the area, working the majority with Nussbaum trucking in Normal for 34 years.

He attended Rock Creek Bible Church in Congerville.

Willis was always wanting to make people laugh and going out of his way to help others. He touched many lives over the years and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday July 23, 2018 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Visitation will be held from 10-11:45 Monday prior to the services. Burial with military rites will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at argoruestmanharris.com
