Obituary

Mildred B. Reeb, 97, of Eureka, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.  She had been a resident there for 7 months and the family would like to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care given to their mother.

Mildred was born July 14, 1924, in Eureka to Emanuel and Mathilda (Schertz) Ulrich.  She married Leonard E. Reeb on August 10, 1947, at the Roanoke Mennonite Church.  He died September 1, 2019, in Eureka after 72 years of marriage.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Wilfred, Kenneth, Emanuel Jr., and one son-in-law Kevin Keel.

 Surviving Mildred is daughter Carol Keel of Lexington, Ky; son Glenn (Louise) Reeb of Eureka; daughter Barbara (Ron) Sutter of Germantown Hills; one sister Geneva Meyer of Orrville, OH; two brothers Harold (Lila) Ulrich of Eureka and Frank (Cara) Ulrich of Archbold, OH; six grandchildren; Keri (Clint) Long, Kirk (Susie) Keel, Carl (Janelle) Reeb, Richard (Rachel) Reeb, Jeremy Sutter, Rachel (Aaron) Roberts; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mildred was a homemaker.  She was a caring mother who enjoyed raising her family.  She loved gardening, canning, and her flowers.  For many years she pressed flowers to create cards and baked cookies/cakes for the MCC Relief Sale.  She enjoyed volunteering at the MCC Eureka Et Cetera Shop, serving the community with Meals on Wheels, babysitting her grandchildren, traveling, quilting, completing various sewing projects, reading, and watching birds, especially wrens.

Mildred was a member of Roanoke Mennonite Church.  She taught children’s classes, VBS, worked in the kitchen for many occasions, and was a member of the women’s sewing circle.

Private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.  Pastors Bryan Miller and Jolene Miller will officiate.  Argo-Ruestman-Harris funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roanoke Mennonite Church, the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or another organization of their choice.
